PNGRU names 19-man train-on-squad for Oceania 7s

The Papua New Guinea Rugby Union has named its 19 man train-on-squad for the 2016 Oceania Sevens qualifiers in Fiji next month.

After the 2016 National Provincial championships held last weekend in Port Moresby, The PNGRU has selected its extended squad for a 10-day training before training the team down to the final 12 for the Pukpuks Sevens team.

The two days tournament will also fully combine the men's and women's Sevens Championships for the first time.

THE PNGRU during the last week’s national provincial tournament also selected its female side to make up the PNG Palais squad, but is yet to be announced.

However, the two-day Oceania Sevens championship will be from November 11-12 in Suva, Fiji which also serves as a qualifier for non-core World Sevens Series men's teams into the Wellington, Sydney and Hong Kong legs of the 2017 Series.
