PNG Update Forum confirmed for November

The 2016 PNG Update Forum is confirmed for November 3 – 4 2016, at the University of Papua New Guinea.

The event is seen as the premier forum for the discussion of research and analysis relating to economic and public policy issues on PNG.

This years forum theme is ‘Sustaining development beyond the resources boom.’

The provisional program has indicated key speeches from Secretary for Finanace, Dr Ken Ngangan, Bank of PNG Governor, Loi Bakani, and Minister for National Planning, Charles Abel.

Some of the issues that will be discussed including PNG’s macroeconomic outlook, education, sustainability and development, urban spaces, and public-private partnerships in health, among others.

The forum is organized by the University of Papua New Guinea School of Business and Public Policy and the ANU’s Development Policy Centre.

The forum is funded by the Australian Aid Program and the Asian Development Bank.

This year’s forum is the fourth installment since its inception in 2013.
