PNG U18 women to take on Fiji in FIBA semis

The Papua New Guinea U18 women will take on hosts Fiji in the first semi-final match of the FIBA (Basketball) Oceania Championship at 4pm today.

After losing all pool matches, Papua New Guinea was given a golden opportunity for a comeback when they take on host Fiji.

Despite a devastating 121-13 loss to New Zealand, PNG will stay focus banking on center Svetlana Arthur for the rebounds and Normalisa Dobunaba and Denienne Bray for their basket counts.

On the other end, the host nation will have the advantage of the crowd and moreover, using their height advantage in stealing rebounds and making drives.

However, the two sides will kick off the FIBA U18 championship finals tonight before Australia will take on New Caledonia in the second semi’s while the third semi’s will be between New Zealand and Samoa.
