PNG Mixed and Men’s Netball set for March

Papua New Guinea Spots men and women can now showcase their talents in another newly well-organized sport.

The newly formed PNG Mixed and Men’s Netball Association (PNGMMNA)  is an initiative of the PNG Netball Association to promote and showcase the talented Male & Female Mixed Players of PNG at an international level by providing a dedicated, transparent and supportive association through a well-managed local competition.

The registration for the competition is still open to teams and will close on March 16.

There are three (3) grades in this competition that teams can nominate for that caters for all levels of experience and skill.

• Premier League: - Teams in this league will have above average skills. Future National Representatives will use this league to continue to develop their skills.

• Social A League:- Team in this league want a good competitive fun competitions, but should strive to continue development to move up to the Premier League.

• Social B League:- Teams in this league are relatively new to the game. Games are played in Great Spirit and the goal is to have fun but will also allow players in this league to develop their skills

• Season 2 will see the inclusion of a Men’s Premier League which promises to be very exciting.

However, the PNGMMNA inaugural season will kick off its 2016 season on March 23 and run for 15 weeks.

“PNGMMNA will also announce “Open” selection trials to select the best players to represent PNG at upcoming International Competition for both Men and Mixed team. We are even considering an Under 23 Men’s team,” PNGMMNA president Adam Parker said.

Parker added, the Mixed and Men’s Netball  is an extremely physical and competitive sport and selected players will get the opportunity to play against the best Male and Mixed Female players in the world.
