PNG denies Fiji to qualify

​Papua New Guinea holds off Fiji to a draw in Group A of the 2016 OFC U-20 Championship in Port Vila.

Fiji misses out on the victory they needed for their semifinals hopes and PNG exit with their first point of the tournament.

Papua New Guinea's Peter Dabinyaba Jr floats a free kick in 35th minute that evades everyone and nestles in the net for PNG to lead 1-0 at first half.

In the second half, Fiji came back aiming to collect the win with more attacks into PNG’s goal mouth.

However, Felix Komolong played an amazing role in the backline denying Fiji’s attempts.

Fiji than with more attacks finally went on the board when Fiji’s Don Raj's shot well but France Catarogo buries the follow up for a draw.

Than Papua New Guinea's Stahl Gubag  goes on a mazy run from his own half to the Fiji box but couldn’t  quite tee up a team mate in the  in the edge of the area but deflected for a corner which Fiji clear.

In the 82nd minute, Fiji's France Catarogo pin the ball once into PNG’s but Don Raj was offside during was denied for an offside.

Papua New Guinea once again had another chance with Stahl Gubag into the the open back post but balloons over the cross by the bounce.

PNG now exits the championship with their first point of the tournament while Fiji missed out to qualify for the semifinals.
