PNG beats Kiribati in men’s volleyball

PNG Amoa has grabbed an easy win against Kiribati 3-0 in the men’s volleyball final pool match.

The home side demonstrated great volley and fast spiking techniques from Harold Gima, Kala Kila and George David leaving the visitors awestruck.

PNG won the first set by a huge margin 25-16.

Kiribati fought back in the second quarter but couldn’t keep up as PNG continued to dominate the game with good ball placement and defence to win 25-21.

PNG sailed through the third set 25-12 to avoid a fourth set from taking place.

Following the win, this places them in the top six to compete in the playoffs on Thursday.

Tahiti and Wallis & Futuna are now leading the competition.

The top four teams from the playoffs will progress to the semi-final on Friday.
