PNG Air extends services to AROB

PNG Air will be extending its services to the Autonomous region of Bougainville.

The airline will be carrying out its inaugural flight to Buka and Keita on its latest ATR plane on April 21.

The company aims to cater to the people by offering affordable prices and quality service to its customers.

Chief commercial officer Paul Abbot outlined that the airline aims to operate three flights a week that will cater to the Buka and Keita ports.

Last November during the company’s rebranding, Muralee Siva, PNG Air’s chief executive officer said the new ATR 72-600 aircraft is tailored for regional operations.

He said the plane has the ability to operate to runways that are short, unpaved and at altitude, while maintaining effective payloads and low fuel use.

The twin-engine turboprop short-haul plane has a wingspan of 27 metres and with its low operating costs, high reliability, versatility and passenger comfort, the plane aims to impress.

On inspection, the cabin offers spacious seating environment with plush leather seats and boasts plenty of leg room with the widest cabin in the turboprop market.

Overall, the ATR 72-600 has been earmarked to cater to the airline’s strategy to service regional markets effectively through lowering the cost of air travel.

Ticket prices from  Rabaul to Kieta will be K436, while Rabaul to Buka is just K312 and passengers wanting to travel from Lae to Kieta can pay K634.

From Lae to Buka, passengers can pay K512 while from Port Moresby to Buka the price is K570. Port Moresby to Kieta will cost passengers K684.
