Parkop: Polye must stop issuing petty complaints

National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop has called on Opposition Leader Don Polye to stop issuing petty complaints about the city in the media.

Parkop was responding to Polye's comments on the eviction of a 94-year-old Fuzzy Wuzzy angel in the nation’s capital.

Polye claimed that Parkop must step in and help the old man if he is serious about his “Walk for Life” as this is true the walk for life act.

He further claimed that a real walk for life is where there’s help when a family’s life is under threat and venerable out on the street and not a politically motivated campaign using public office and funds.

However, Parkop in response told Loop PNG that he (Parkop) has no control over the National Housing Corporation and their eviction plans.

He said Polye has not attended or participated in the walk for life program to see the impact.

"It’s typical of him shooting his mouth off without verifying. Just like he questions the quality of work China Harbour Engineering Construction Ltd doing for the City.

"He never went to check and did not accept my invite to take him to check but is just shooting his mouth off."

He added that Polye must stop his narrow minded comments and debate national issues rather than attacking other leaders.

"I am not responsible for him (Polye) performing poorly as Opposition Leader. It seems he has run out of ideas and is resorting to petty complaints in a bid to make him look relevant going to the election."
