One policeman nursing head injuries from Waigani clash with soldiers

One policeman injured in tonight's clash with soldiers at Waigani station has been discharged from hospital.

A second policeman remains in hospital.

Waigani Police station Commander Micha Yosman said he is being monitored for head injuries.

NCD Superintendent of Operations, Philip Kulwaum will pursue the matter with the appropriate military heads.

Kulwaum has briefed Metropolitan Commander Ben Turi who is out of the city adding he will be making a more detailed response tomorrow morning.

For now Waigani market near the main bus-stop opposite North Waigani Stop and Shop lies in ashes.

Police say the main stalls have not been touched except the outdoor make shift market that used to contain the second hand stalls.
