This was confirmed by CEO of the PNG Rugby Football League, Bob Cutmore who said Olam will start with pre-season training with the Melbourne Storm in late October.
“Justin has signed the contract with the Melbourne Storm to join the club next year. We are just awaiting the registration and endorsement by the NRL and when that comes through the Storm will make an official announcement.
“In the meantime, Justin met with Craig Bellamy during the Storm game against Brisbane Broncos two weeks ago and invited Justin to travel to Melbourne to see his new home and meet the other staff,” said Cutmore.
Olam will travel to Melbourne after the game against Redcliffe Dolphins on Sunday to meet up with Storms coaching staff.
He will train with Storm on Monday and Tuesday and return to PNG on Wednesday.
Olam will be accommodated by a family who also look after another Papua New Guinean, Melbourne U-18 player, Zev John.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to go and see the facilities in Melbourne and meet my future employers and friends.
“My immediate focus is playing well for the SP Hunters and getting into the finals,” said Olam.
