O’Neill extends sympathies to Ganasi’s family, South Fly

It is with great sadness that the House has received word on the passing of the Late Aide Ganasi, the Deputy Speaker and the Member for South Fly.

In a statement, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill says: “To the Late Member’s family, and the people of South Fly, I offer on behalf of our Government, our party and our people, our condolences and sympathies.

“The Leader, as a Member of this Honourable House, served with great distinction and great honour.

“The death of a sitting Member is always a very sad occasion for the Parliament.

“Today we lost a colleague and a friend.”

O’Neill says the Late Deputy Speaker has a lot to be proud of in the achievements that he has attained in his term as a Member of Parliament.

“Western Province has great potential, but faces many difficulties, and the Late Member for South Fly worked tirelessly for his people.

“He delivered services to remote areas, he expanded education and he improved healthcare and extended the delivery of basic services in his district,” states the PM.

“While we mourn the loss of our Deputy Speaker, the people of South Fly can look around them and see the hard work that he has put into his electorate as a Member of Parliament.

“Only a few weeks ago, he demonstrated how very proud he was of the work that he has done when he briefed the Government.

“He was especially proud of the reforms and renovations that he has achieved at Daru High School and other parts of his district.”

The Prime Minister assures that the Government will continue the work he has begun in his electorate, and ensure the people of South Fly continue to receive the services that they truly deserve.

“We all are proud to have served with him in this Honourable House.

“Again, we extend our condolences and sympathies to his family and the people of South Fly, for our Late Deputy Speaker in their time of grief,” says O’Neill.
