NRL Premiership trophy arrives on PNG soil

Australia’s National Rugby League Premiership trophy has landed on Papua New Guinea soil.

The Provan-Summons trophy arrived this afternoon in Port Moresby accompanied by three officials of the 2015 NRL premiers  team, the North Queensland Cowboys.

Former Cowboys, State Of Origin Queensland and Australian representative Brent Tate proudly showed off  the trophy at the airport after walking out of the arrival launching.

The public at the airport including passengers, security guards and airport staff rushed over to get a glimpse and feel of the trophy.

Tate along with Cowboys general manager- commercial Steve Mitchell and senior sales and development manager Jeffrey Reibel will be in the country for three days with the trophy.

There will be public appearances and school visits during their stay in Moresby.

The trophy will be showcased at three main locations in the city on Saturday, namely the  Water Front, Vision City and Waigani Central  Stop and Shop.
