NRL in the Park to kick off today in Port Moresby

NRL in the Park will kick off in Port Moresby today with families invited to participate in a whole day of family footy fun.

To be held each weekend in a different location in the the country over the next month, NRL in the Park is a community initiative sponsored and organized by Digicel Play.

Today's event will start at 11am and will provide a variety of entertainment including meeting local rugby league stars, local bands and games for children.

It will be held at the Jack Pidik Park and will be officiated by NCD Governor, Powes Parkop.

CEO of Digicel PNG, Maurice McCarthy said event highlighted Digicel Play's commitment to the people of PNG.

"NRL is arguably the most loved sport in PNG and these free local events will allow fans to celebrate their favorite game ahead of the 2016 season," said McCarthy.

NRL in the Park started in Lae yesterday and will continue with events planned for Mt. Hagen, Goroka, Madang, Buka and Kokopo.
