New strategies help push Digicels growth

Revising customer service initiatives and introducing news services in the small business sector are some of the key aspects of Digicel PNG’s success in 2016.

Depsite the trying economy Digicel PNG continues to perform strongly on the back of revised strategies focusing more on the needs of clients.

Head of Digicel Business, Gary Cobain, tells Loop PNG that the business community was facing tough times and thus the company had to be proactive.

“They are hitting tough times themselves and unless we’re prepared to help them reduce their costs in some way then we’re going to be under threat,” he said.

“So we’ve been very proactive in going to all our customers and looking at the plans that they’re on and looking at the services that we’re giving them and if we can improve those and give them better value that’s exactly what were doing.”

Digicel PNG is also tapping into the Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) sector as well as taking up share of the fixed line service.

“So we’re helping SME’s at the moment and introducing new services there and that’s really helping us grow.”

“We’ve launched some new services in the land line and fixed voice space which again is an area which Telikom have enjoyed and were really beginning to take some serious market share,” Cobain said.

Cobain attributed the success of the company to innovative and hardworking staff who continue to deliver expected outcomes.
