NCD Police arrest home owners for aiding car thieves

A Goroka man and his Kerema wife have been arrested after police found three stolen vehicles hidden at the couple’s Vadavada home in Port Moresby.

Police raided the home at around 10pm on Wednesday night and were shocked to find the three vehicles that were recently stolen as well as an assortment of car parts in the yard.

The man 29 and his 24 year old wife have been taken into the Boroko cells for questioning.

NCD Central police Commander Jerry Frank said enough is enough warning police are now cracking down on such hot spots like Vadavada.

He adds that crime will not prosper unless the community steps up and take ownership and stop helping criminals by hiding their loot.

All three cars have been impounded at the Boroko traffic office while all their owners have been notified of their recovery.

The couple will be charged with aiding and abetting.
