Mt Diamond rape: Investigations continue

Investigators of the Sexual Offence Squad are continuing their investigations into the rape of a female student from Mt Diamond Secondary school in June this year.

Investigators tell LOOP News that the case is such that there must be hard evidence linking suspects to the crime to ensure a chance of conviction.

As of last week the main suspect, a mature age student aged 26  was arrested and is now at Bomana Prison waiting to appear in court on charges of sexual penetration.

Four other suspects are still at large but their identities are known to police.

Police are giving the suspects a chance to surrender or pictures of them will be circulated to media outlets for publication.

In June this year a rape incident occurred at Mt Diamond Secondary School in Central Province. The incident was reported however no action was taken.

This incident was made prominent after a video of the act was circulated on social media Facebook and WhatsApp.
