The Morobe Provincial Government is preparing for the visit of the "father of the nation" in their province this week.
Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare will visit the province on Wednesday for the Momase Governor's Conference, which will be held in Lae.
And the Morobe Provincial Government is planning for the senior statesman to visit his old high school in Finschhafen.
Acting Morobe Provincial Administrator Masayang Moat said a parade will be held at the Morobe Administration Block by police for Sir Michael, followed by a day trip to Finschhafen.
"This will be his last time to visit the province as the Governor of East Sepik and also the founder of our country. The grand welcome and farewell is in respect of him and his marvelous contribution to Morobe Province and the country as a whole," Moat said.
Sir Michael will be joined by his counterparts in Jim Kas from Madang and Amkat Mai from Sandaun and of course, the host Governor Kasiga Kelly Naru.
