Mendi Muruks select 44 men train on squad

Digicel Cup franchise PRK Mendi Muruks has named a 44 men train on squad, leading up to the 2016 season, scheduled to commence on April 17.

Selection was done after the Awasa Cup tournament at the weekend where 18 teams throughout the districts took part.

Muruks team official Jack Kereme said the squad boasts youth and experience with over ten raw talents selected from district teams.

Regulars who have maintained their spot include; David Lapua, Andrew Ipi, Kewa Kili, Ape Nande, Jackson Undi and David Loko.

The 44 players will be divided into two teams, Mendi Black and Mendi White, to play each other this weekend in Mendi.

Muruks selectors will then select the final 25 men squad which will be announced next month just before the launch of the season.

The Digicel Cup season will have 16 weeks of competition with the grand final in September.

The eleven teams from last season will challenge for the Cup.
