A Mt Hagen man was arrested and charged by police for assaulting another man at Waigani market on Monday afternoon.
The man, 36, from Hagen Central was arrested after he bashed a Wabag man over money that the victim allegedly owed him.
The suspect according to police reports broke the mans nose and fractured his skull in the attack that shocked many on-lookers.
The suspect was picked up by Boroko police this morning after the victims family laid an official complaint at the Boroko cells.
Meantime, the man is at the Boroko police cells to be interviewed.
In another incident two youths aged 16 and 17 were picked up by police outside Port Moresby Grammar School after they were observed to be under the influence of home-brew.
The two are at the Boroko juvenile cells awaiting processing by juvenile officers.
