Madang FC names team for round three

Madang FC will take on hosts Goroka FC at the National Sports Institute tomorrow in round three of the Telikom National Soccer League.

Coach Bob Morris named its 18 man travelling squad yesterday afternoon and left for Goroka today.

Coach Morris says he has put in some new players to take the field with Sojo Mandari to stand at the goal mouth, Langarap Samol, Rodney Talau, Ray Romo and Nigel Malagain to be the backliners.

He says the two midfielders are Darren Steven who last week played wing against Admiralty FC and Hanson Tirimo with wingers Ian Hangasa and Vanya Malagin.

He says the two strikers are captain Max Sengum and Samuel Kini with seven reserves.

Coach Morris says he has decided with his assistant to use all the players so that they get the feel of playing in professional football.

He says most of the players are new but have learned a lot from the experienced players and know they will do their best to make Madang proud.

Meantime, Madang Soccer Association president Ray Romo has issued a strong warning to the so-called pressure group in Madang who are going against MFC management and coaching staff.

Romo says it’s about time those so-called big name players of Madang  stop and work together to make Madang FC move forward.

He urged them to throw their support behind team manager Max Kitao and coach Bob Morris.
