The Madang CSO Forum is supporting calls by pressure groups and university students for Prime Minister Peter O’Neill to step aside and allow for investigations to take place.
Madang CSO Forum is the umbrella body representing all civil society and non-government organisations in the province.
President of Madang CSO Forum, Andrew Mapio on Thursday, May 12, went on air using the provincial radio NBC Madang to express his views in support of the university students across the country.
He said the Madang CSO Forum fully supports the stand taken by the students from the University of PNG, Unitech and pressure groups in the country.
Mapio said the issue is no longer a national issue, it is now an international issue because countries overseas are keeping a close watch on PNG.
Mapio’s comments also come amidst Divine Word University students' refusal to conduct any public protest.
