Liu, McKendry face suspensions

Roosters forward Isaac Liu and Penrith's Sam McKendry are both facing one-match suspensions resulting from Monday night's Panthers win.

Liu was hit with a grade two charge of making dangerous contact with the head/neck of Lelani Latu, and will miss one match with an early guilty plea or risks a two-game ban if he challenges the charge at the judiciary and loses.

McKendry faces a week out whether or not he takes an early guilty plea for making contact with referee Jared Maxwell late in the contest.

On Monday, Knights forward Pauli Pauli was slapped with a grade two carless high tackle charge for his hit on Broncos counterpart Joe Ofahengaue in Newcastle’s heavy loss at Suncorp Stadium, and with two prior non-similar offences in the past two years, will need to challenge the grading at the NRL judiciary to be any chance of playing in Round 8.

Rabbitohs centre Hymel Hunt (grade one careless high tackle) will be free to face the Broncos in Round 8 with an early guilty plea, while Bulldogs prop Tim Browne (tripping) will also escape suspension if he elects to take the early plea.

Despite a poor past record, Storm forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona (tripping) will also narrowly avoid suspension if he opts for the early guilty plea.
