Leave public servants out of politics – teacher

A teacher in Aseki in Menyamy,a Morobe Province has called on politicians to leave public servants alone.

They have a big responsibility to serve the public and must not be used by politicians for their own gain.

Headmaster of Aseki Lutheran High School Philip Netato said sometimes they are disturbed by politicians and they don't serve the public well.

"Politicians must respect public servants as they are the front runners in providing government services.”

"We don't want politicians to interfere and disturb us for their own good.  If they want to help then we would like to see that but they must not disturb us from delivering," he said.

He said this on Saturday at the presentation of a new 3 tone tipper truck from Morobe Governor Kasiga Kelly Naru at Aseki station.

Netato said his Aseki Lutheran High School was just given the approval to operate as an high school by the Education authorities.

The school is new and will require more infrastructure development.

This year it enrolled its first Grade seven students.
