K25,000 for St Charles Lwanga Secondary School

The new St Charles Lwanga Secondary School in the nation’s capital has received much needed funding today from the National Gaming Control Board.

NGCB presented a cheque of K250,000 as part of its community benefit give-back program for the construction of new classrooms and labs.

St Charles Lwanga High School was elevated to a secondary school last year with the pioneer year 11 students enrolled this year.

As the school expanded, its needs also increased. The school needed to build more classrooms, labs and staff offices to cater for the growth.

Today, it received a timely donation that will pave the way for the construction of science and IT labs and importantly, classrooms for its year 12s next year.

NGCB CEO Imelda Agon said the organisation aligns itself with the government’s vision 2050 in aspiring to improve the quality of life for all citizens, as far as education is concerned.

The students were encouraged to take pride in their education and the facilities they have and make the most out of it as education is the key to prosperity.
