Jets beat Hunters 30-12

The SP Hunters have suffered their second consecutive loss going down 30-12 this afternoon to the Ipswich Jets at the North Ipswich Reserve, Australia.

The Jets took a 12-2 lead at half-time and ran in three more tries to set up a comprehensive win on home soil.

The Hunters put themselves right back into the game in the second half when Thompson Teteh scored out wide.

Noel Zeming’s unsuccessful conversion put the score at 12-6.

The Jets responded straight away through Richard Pandia, who proved too much to handle on the wing to crash over to score his second try for the afternoon.

The 60-minute mark witnessed Teteh break through the defence and run 60 metres, drawing in the fullback before passing to Watson Boas to do the rest and score.

Zeming this time narrowed the deficit to one converted try. But the Jets continued to surge home determined to cause an upset and sealed the win in the 68th minute after an easy try to Nat Neale from an Adex Wera error in-goal.

The icing on the cake came a minute out from full time when Nemani Velekapa crossed over.

Kicker and fullback Carlin Anderson was impeccable, making it 5 from 5, converting the last try right from the sideline.
