Include people with disabilities in your policies: Lupari

The Government departmental heads meeting this morning started on an emotional note with entertainment presentation from children of the Red Cross Special Education Centre.

There was also a touching opening prayer from former convict, Pastor Philip Vaki, and the master of ceremony Ben Theodore, who is visually impaired.

The bi- monthly meeting is held in Port Moresby.

Chief Secretary Isaac Lupari, when making his speech, said they all inspire him.

He challenged the departmental heads to include people living with disabilities in their policies, to cater to their needs.

Lupari urged the senior public servants to better coordinate and communicate to improve its service delivery.

"You must be passionate about your job (because) people's lives are in our hands.

"Are we doing what we are required to do?” Lupari asked.

Today's presentation will be done by the Health Secretary Pascoe Kase, Acting Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra, Higher Education Secretary Prof. David Kavanamur, National Planning Secretary Hakaua Henry and Department of Provincial & Local Level Government Affairs acting Secretary Dickson Guina.
