I reported to Port Moresby police – school rape victim

The female assaulted by a gang of male colleagues in a Central Province Church owned school says she reported the incident to police in down town Port Moresby the day after it happened.

In an exclusive telephone interview with TV WAN this week, the girl (named) refuted claims by her school and police that no reported was made to police for investigations.

The assault occurred on Tuesday afternoon, July 16th she told TV WAN and an official complaint was made at town police station on Wednesday July 17th.

And while she cannot remember the incident clearly, she remembers waking up in a teacher’s house in the school; her T-Shirt was torn as if it had been cut in the middle with a sharp object.

She also confirmed she was in the company of two other females and three male students.

She said the school was aware of the incident because the deputy head teacher had asked her parents to report the matter to police because it was a rape case.

TV WAN also said she has identified the male students in the video.

LOOP PNG called into the town police station this morning to enquire but the station commander was not available to disclose details then.
