HPS launched Leadership Summit program

The Papua New Guinea High Performance Sport (HPS PNG) launched its HPS PNG Leadership Summit program today at the Sir John Guise BSP stadium in Port Moresby.

Thirty successful athletes and coaches will be selected to attend a seven day camp at the Runaway Bay Super Sport Centre in Gold Coast with all expenses paid by HPS PNG.

Candidates will be selected from different sports that are being offered at Gold Coast 2018.

Different sports category involves Athletics, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Lawn Bowls, Hockey, Netball, Rugby7s, Shooting, Squash, Swimming, Triathlon, Weightlifting, Para-Weighting lifting & Athletics, Basketball and Table Tennis.

The program is focused on the sports played at the Commonwealth Games whereas cricket and a few other sports not played in the Commonwealth Games were not included in the program.

However, nominations are now open and will close on September 12 before the applications go through screening before the announcement on September 15.

Forms can be collected at the HPS PNG head office at the Sir John Guise stadium (Indoor complex), the Southern Centre of Excellence at the Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre of Excellence in Port Moresby or the Momase Centre of Excellence at the Sir Ignatius Kilage stadium in Lae, Morobe Province.

Nominees must have a current and valid passport which has six months past the date of the camp.
