Hekari determined to keep top spot

Hekari United FC are determined to maintain their unbeaten run in the Telikom National Soccer League (TNSL) competition.

The team took to the field today at the Bisini Grounds with the players playing friendly matches among themselves.

A definite boost to the team’s campaign will be the return of striker Tommy Semmy and the addition of midfielder Wira Wama.

Team manager Vonnie Kapi Natto said the squad of 24 had split into four teams to play.

“We had Christmas off but the boys are back and working hard at training to keep themselves fit.

“We’re very excited about the 2015-2016 season. There are a lot of good teams in the Southern Conference and we know we have to work extra hard,” said Kapi Natto.

Hekari have won five from five matches and are sitting top of their pool in the Southern Conference.

“We’ve got off to a good start which is very encouraging,” said Kapi Natto.

Hekari will take on Gigira Laitepo Utd FC next month in round 6 of the Telikom National Soccer League (TNSL).
