Hekari aims to make OFC final

Making it to the finals will be the goal for Hekari United FC at next year’s Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League in New Zealand.

Team manager,Vonnie Kapi Natto said the team came close to making the finals finishing second in Pool C behind Team Wellington in 2015.

“We were in a tough pool last year and missed out. This time around we are aiming to make the finals.

“It’s a big ask but if we work together we can do it,” said Kapi Natto.

The Champions League will be played in Auckland and Wellington and will run from April 9to 23.

Twelve teams will take part.

Hekari have been placed in Group B alongside Team Wellington Suva FA (FIJ) AS Lossi and Suva FA.

Last year’s Telikom National Soccer League champions Lae City Dwellers will also be taking part in the Champions League and are in Pool A.
