Happenings in Moresby keeps AROB on the edge

THE current situation in Papua New Guinea hasn’t gone unnoticed in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville which is sitting on the edge of a precipice.

And now the political future of Bougainville is in a  limbo with the major universities being suspended and the future AROB elites are now in trouble.

Every evening in every place which has access to TVWAN  sees  a crowd  always seated around the screen. In the past it was radio.

A private and independent political analyst Peter Nerau was approached by PNG Loop in Buka for his view and assessment of the situation.

“First of all after the conflict here on Bougainville we on Bougainville are very conscious politically and are wary of every situation concerning the region and the country’s political affairs,” Nerau said.

“Right now our concern is the future of us when the University has been suspended we do not know about the future of our children now, we have a political journey of our own here on Bougainville and we have goals and achievements to attain,” he said.

“According to my own independent assessment we on Bougainville are highly dependent on Papua New Guinea and whatever happens we will be the most affected than any other province in Papua New Guinea, because the bulk of our funding comes there,”  Nerau said.

“My appeal now is to all parties to come together and sort this issue out professionally and the Prime Minister has to step down and let investigations go on,” he said.

Every Bougainvillean  is now on the alert to hear any latest news coming in from Port Moresby and also around the country about the country’s political situation.
