Gospel group Christafari arrives in PNG this week

International reggae gospel band Christafari arrives in Port Moresby this Friday, September 30.

The band will be back to perform live this weekend, October 1-2 at the Reverend Sione Kami Memorial Church (RSKMC) grounds at  Five-Mile.

The group’s comeback to PNG will also consist of visits to Ukarumpa in East Highlands and Rabaul in East New Britain.

Due to the change of arrival date, Christafari is unable to facilitate the Praise & Worship and Sound Engineering seminar before the two-night concert.

Organisers from RSKMC media ministry said a huge crowd is expected to turn up for the two shows compared to their last performance in November 2015 which saw more than 7,000 people attend.

Christafari is expected to belt out popular gospel songs including Cries of the City, He Will Deliver Me, Freedom Step, He is Greater Than I and Sitting and Watching.

The group fuses rustic roots with modern dancehall and yardee culture to create their own signature sound.

The band recently released a new video “Lord, You Are Good” featuring the tour including sights, scenes and faces of PNG apart from the other Melanesian countries.

Tickets for the concerts are going for K30 per person per night while kids under five years have free admission.

Tickets will be on sale at the church’s administration office during the week from 9am-5pm and at the church foyer during Sunday services from 8:30am to 12 noon.
