Gore raises concern on church mismanagement

Be wary of the development of church-run programs in Northern because corruption and mismanagement also exists there.

Minister for Youth, Religion and Community Development Delilah Gore has urged the people and church leaders of Higaturu LLG in Sohe district to be cautious.

She was speaking during the presentation of more than K200,000 in cheque to 10 churches over the weekend.

The cheque was part of her commitment, and also under the National Government’s Vision 2050 partnership program with churches in PNG, to help support the development of church standards in the country.

She says under the partnership program, churches would be engaged in development plans and also help better the lives of marginalised people in rural communities.

Minister Gore stressed that partnership with churches has the ability to build and strengthen services in PNG.

She said it is better for the Government to support church-run schools and health facilities. The partnership represents the desire to continue to strengthen the people of this nation and the programs that the National Government is looking forward to utilise.

Gore said the partnership with churches has been very significant since the program was established in the country.

She urged the church leaders who received the cheque to use the money properly to spread the gospel of Christ.
