George Clooney arguing with neighbors over security system

Is George Clooney the best neighbor ever? Not according to some residents.

The Tomorrowland star appears to be ruffling a few feathers as he tries to gain approval on a new security system near his multimillion-dollar property in England.

According to local newspaper the Henley Standard, George and his wife Amal Clooney are seeking permission to install eight cameras on wooden poles near the grounds of their Oxfordshire, U.K. mansion. An additional 10 cameras would also be planted directly on the property.

Local residents, however, believe the surveillance would be an eyesore and go against the village's conservation area.

"A more appropriate security system could be achieved by a greater number of inward-facing, low-level cameras," said the complaint from Eye and Dunsden Parish Council.

The complaint also argued that the poles would be a "visual intrusion" and "represents a potential infringement of the privacy of neighboring properties."

While George and Amal haven't commented on the reports, the Hollywood pair was all smiles Wednesday when they enjoyed date night at Harry's Bar in Cernobbio, Italy. Rocking his goatee yet again, George held hands with his wife as they left the restaurant late into the evening.

Speaking of Italy, the couple actually has been spending much of the summer at their home near Lake Como.

Whether celebrating the Fourth of July with Julia Roberts or enjoying family dinners, George and Amal appear to be making a splash—for all the right reasons—at their summer destinations.

"They were very down to earth," a source revealed to E! News after spotting the famous couple at a restaurant. "Clearly, they required some privacy…but when they came in, there was much surprise and excitement."
