Engan men arrested for fighting

Five Engan men are now at the Boroko cells in relation to confrontations along the Angau Drive at Four-Mile today.

The men were arrested by a police patrol unit after they fronted up to a house of a Morobe man and demanded that he hand over the keys to his car.

Police report that the victim had allegedly borrowed K1000 from the men and was about five months behind in repayments.

The five men as well as the victim are now all at the Boroko stations being questioned by police with  formal charges yet be laid on them.

Meanwhile, in another domestic abuse case, a father of two was taken to the police station after he had bashed up his wife.

The couple both from Tari had an argument late last night at their East Boroko home.

The fight reportedly escalated when the man returned home during the early hours of this morning and picked a fight with his wife.

The wife sustained bruises to her face as well as injuries to her abdomen and chest area.

The couple will be meeting with investigators today.

The man can be charged with assault, threats and intimidation.
