DWU warns students against computer hacking

The Divine Word University Information Computer Technology ICT has issued a stern warning against students who frequently steal passwords for fellow students.

ICT issued a warning notice to all students from various departments yesterday.

According to ICT services they’ve been fully aware that there are a few individuals running software on the network and stealing passwords from  other students.

Those individuals’ actions are also affecting internet connectivity and downtime on the online resources as was experienced recently.

“We would like to warn those individuals who are practising this unethical behaviour to refrain from doing it,’’ a statement said.

“We have caught several students recently and (we have been) lenient on them so they can advise their colleagues to refrain from doing it.

“Be warned that all users on DWU Network have logs of all your activity on the network.

“We also appeal to everyone if you are aware of someone practising such unprofessional and unethical behaviour.

However, for those who are caught this time, there will be serious disciplinary action taken against them for their unprofessional behaviour.
