Daffodil Cup Golf Challenge gets support from Digicel

Participants of the 2016 Daffodil Cup Golf Challenge will have the chance of owning the latest Samsung Galaxy S7 as part of their winning prize.

Digicel PNG donated 4 Samsung Galaxy S7 phones this week towards the event’s 'team prizes'.

The annual Daffodil Cup is set for Friday, August 12 at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club organized by the Papua New Guinea Cancer Foundation (PNGCF) and sponsored by Oil Search.

The challenge is now into its 14th consecutive year and is a major fundraiser within Daffodil Month, the PNGCF's August Campaign.

The event aims to raise funds for cancer prevention and education in PNG.

The PNGCF will use the funds from this event to conduct free mouth and breast cancer screening programs in six locations across PNG in 2017.

So far over 20 Teams have registered to take part including ExxonMobil, MVIL, Heli Solutions, Aon, Pacific MMI and Kumul Petroleum Ltd.

PNGCF chief executive officer Dadi Toka Jr thanked Digicel for such a generous donation and for joining the fight against cancer in PNG.

He said Daffodil Month represents hope for a healthy PNG.

“Join us in August and eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly and protect your family. Don’t smoke, don’t chew betel nut and reduce your alcohol intake,” Toka Jr said.

PNGCF marketing and fundraising manager Hayley Chown said they hope that with these amazing prizes, they can encourage more teams to enter the challenge and join this exciting event.

More than 30 teams are expected to take part with registration fee of K3, 500.
