Daffodil Charity Golf raises K117,372 in Lae event

The 6th Oil Search Daffodil Charity Golf event in Lae raised K117,372 last Friday at the Lae Golf Club.

The Friday event was far better than the fundraising last year.

Mapai Transport was the main sponsor of the charity event. Their partnership with Oil Search successfully brought the event to the Morobe capital.

The Oil Search Daffodil Golf Challenge is the longest running charity golf event for the past 14 years.

Mapai owner Jacob Luke applauded those who stood by him and thanked those new companies who have joined in sponsorship in cash and kind, including, Badili Hardware, Casa Supermarket, Labu Holdings, Motorist Discount Centre and Toby Coffee.

"We are doing it for a worthy cause as we do care for those who are suffering from cancer. And for those companies, it's for your employees who find it expensive to afford medical services,” he said.

The event was won by newcomers Motorist Discount Centre through Lionel Brunskill, Shavina Maras and Kyleen Anis Ambelye.

The other teams who did well were SP Brewery, Speedy Kiwi Signs, Goroka Coffee Roasters and Transwonderland 2.
