Correctional service officers camped out at the Sir Hubert Murray stadium are awaiting clearance about where they will be stationed and which police unit they will accompany during the Games security operations.
According to CS contingent commander Assistant Commissioner Henry Wavik, while the supplementary orders were delivered last Friday their location detail and duties are yet to be handed to them by the overall operations command.
Wavik says that their deployment orders will cover all their engagement duties which would consist primarily of them being engaged at the 8 police stations and the airport post to help their police counterparts with general policing duties.
He says that while the main operations orders cover the overall security detail of the Games, the supplementary order given by their Commissioner will be for them to follow through on as CS officers invited by the police who in this case are the main facilitating force.
Meanwhile, Wavik adds that they anticipate the first batch of CS officers to begin deployment into Games duties by this afternoon or tonight at the latest.
