Christmas mood permeates Port Moresby

Port Moresby is heartily swinging into the festive mood with Christmas only a month away.

Contractors have started setting up the famous Jack Pidik lights at Five-Mile for another period of public celebrations leading to Christmas.

But the first to set up their lights and Christmas trees were supermarkets in the nation’s capital, early in November.

Vision City, RH Hypermart and Stop N Shop are some of the supermarkets that have already put up Christmas trees and decorated the inside and outside of their premises, setting the feel of the fast approaching holiday mood.

Stores have begun reducing their prices, putting goods on Christmas specials, and even airlines are bringing down their fares, allowing customers to travel out for holidays.

Media outlets are also contributing by bringing Christmas featured programs and advertisements with companies distributing good cheer to charity organisations.

Port Moresby is more than ready to welcome this favourite festive holiday!
