Censorship workshop to target

A workshop to create dialogue on a way forward on the impacts of new technologies in PNG will started today in Port Moresby.

Facilitated by the Office of Censorship, the workshop, according to the Director Strategic Policy and Co-ordination Ilikomau Ali will be broken into four sessions.

The two day workshop will cover topics such as the Current status of Modern Technology and communication in PNG, and the effects of using ICT tool, mobile phones, gadgets and social media.

Other areas to be covered will be the role of technology in developing and promoting films and publications as well as the positive and negative impacts of using socialĀ 

Deputy Chief Censorship Jim Abani told PNG Loop that the workshop is a follow up from a 2012 conference that was based on the positive and negative impacts of Modern technology and how it affects PNG.

Attending the workshop will be major stakeholders which Abani says will help the office in gaging their views on the different issues associated with each of the themes to be presented on at the workshop.

The workshop will end on Friday.
