Carols a big success at Murray Barracks

The Carols by Candlelight last night at Murray Barracks Oval in Port Moresby was a success hosted by the Hospital Poroman Foundation (HPF).

Hundreds of people including children, youths and adults attended the event with their candles and sang along to the carols performed by various local artists.

The artists including Straky, Twin Tribe, Mereani Masani and the Concert Band entertained the crowd under the moonlight and in front of  a flood of lit candles.

Duo Sentanya and Henry Gewang blew the crowd away with their rendition of Winter Wonderland.

Nathan Nakikus had the crowd cheering and singing along to Christmas in Rabaul and his local remix of Feliz Navidad sung in the Tolai and Tok Pisin languages.

Founder of HPF Janet Sios thanked the crowd for coming out to celebrate as the night was all about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

Sios thanked the singers and musicians who have been involved in the work of the foundation for stepping up and coming up with the initiative to host the event and raise funds for the foundation.

The crowd sang along to every song as they enjoyed the entertainment and peaceful carols by candlelight hosted in the city.
