BSP teach financial literacy to remote mothers

84 women from Bamne village in the jungles between Jiwaka and Chimbu Provinces have trained with money management skills under the BSP’s Financial Literacy program.

The women invited BSP Kundiawa team to roll out the program after hearing a lot of good things the bank was doing through the program in other parts of the province.

Financial Literacy trainer Jackie Bal and her team braved the rough terrain to reach the village and were pleased with the women as they participated meaningfully in the session.

“The community was eager to learn the ways of managing their monies wisely."

"They asked a lot of questions and said  they were never told these things before,” Bal said.

Chairlady of the Gawai Women’s Enterprise Paula Toman said “the participants enjoyed the session as it was informative, educational and motivational.

"We had the opportunity to ask a lot of questions about the course and also learnt about services provided by the bank,”  Toman said.
