Away fans may be banned from most stadiums in Argentine football, including for Sunday's Superclasico, but Boca Juniors were forced to carry fans of a different kind ahead of their clash with River Plate.
With temperatures in Buenos Aires comfortably above 30°C, the dressing room assigned to the Xeneize in River's Monumental Stadium mysteriously saw the air conditioning malfunction hours before kick-off.
While the home side denied foul play and the room threatened to become an inferno, Boca management sprung into action with an unusual request.
The Hotel Madero, which had housed the team ahead of the Superclasico, were asked to pitch in with two fans to try and keep the heat down.
And they came through, leading to the incongruous sight of Carlos Tevez and Co. coming down from the team coach accompanied with the electrical devices.
But there was another surprise in store, as the power supply also mysteriously failed, making the fans useless.
The way Sunday's Superclasico is shaping up, Boca probably shouldn't expect hot water after the game either!
