This is, allegedly at least, one of the greatest burns in rugby league.
When Wayne Bennett returned to the Brisbane Broncos in 2015, one of the first things he did was get rid of Ben Barba.
Now, according to Fairfax Media and Channel 9 reporter Danny Weidler, there's more to the story.
Weidler revealed the story he was told was Bennett informing Barba he was worth big money on his 2012 Bulldogs form when he won the Dally M medal - not what he had shown at Brisbane the previous season.
Now here's the best part, apocryphal or not.
Barba is then said to have told Bennett he was worth big money too... but on his premiership-winning St George Illawarra form, not what he had shown to the Newcastle Knights.
Boom.
Barba left Brisbane and went on to win a grand final with Cronulla in 2016, while Bennett's Broncos lost the 2015 decider.
Maybe he was right. At the very least, it's up there among the best sledges in league for a while.
