Badighwa students donate blood

Badighwa Secondary School has donated 93 life-saving bags of blood to the Youth Blood Drive team at the Port Moresby General Hospital.

Badighwa Secondary School committed three full days this week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) to allow students to come forward and donate blood.

School deputy principal for human resource, Margareta Moide said having the blood team from PMGH visit the school was a great opportunity for students and a good way of helping other Papua New Guineans in need.

Founder and director of the Youth Blood Drive, Anna Megueria said, donating blood is not just about saving lives; it’s about getting feedback on your health and learning about how to lead a healthy lifestyle which in return brings us healthy blood donors.

“Our mission is to make sure that no one dies at the hospital from the lack of blood. We need to get blood in stock, and with your generous donations will preserve blood for those in need,” Megueria said.
