AFL PNG will commence the running of their junior development carnivals, which will start in the nation's capital.
The Southern Development Carnival will be held this Saturday and Sunday at the Colts Oval, Port Moresby.
Age groups that will take part in the different carnivals are the U15 and U13 boys and girls teams.
The other carnivals are set for:
. 8th and 9th July – Northern Development Carnival – Eriku Oval
· 12th July – Islands Development Carnival – Town Oval (Kavieng)
· 14th July – Islands Development Carnival – Kimbe AFL Oval (Kimbe)
· Highlands Development Carnival – next month (Will advise when date confirmed).
Selections made from the carnivals will see selections for next year’s tours for the national junior teams.
These four teams are the U16 South Pacific Squad, U14 Binatangs, U17 Kurakums and introducing for the first time next year, the U14 Kurakums.
These four teams will take part in the Queensland State Championships according to their divisions.
