Unitech library to observe book week

The University of Technology’s Matheson Library will be hosting a book fair on Thursday and Friday to observe the National Book Week.

The event will be held at the Taraka main campus.

The library management is bringing the celebrations to the campus for the first time, unlike in the past years where they go out to schools to celebrate.

The theme for this year is “Libraries for National Building”.

Several schools in the city have been invited to participate in the fair, with lots of fun activities planned by the staff, including quizzes, treasure hunts and search race.

Librarian Rena Gonduan, who is part of the organising committee, said companies like Seeto Kui, Morobe Stationery, bmobile, Telikom and Unitech Bookshop will set up book displays and sell merchandises over the two days.

Mrs. Gonduan said there will be a session for reading books for the younger kids and poetry citing as well as book and photography displays of former Unitech students, who are now prominent people in the private and public sector.
