New judges for new MoH categories

A group of professionals Papua New Guineans have been selected as members of the independent panel of judges for 2016/2017 Men of Honor Awards.

This was announced yesterday by Digicel PNG Foundation Board chairman, Douveri Henao, in a media press conference in Port Moresby.

In the Men of Honor Cycle, two new categories were also launched, which saw two outstanding Papua New Guineans join the distinguished panel of judges.

The two new judges are Professor Betty Lovai, who will be judging the Allen Mahuru Posthumous Service Award and Dadi Toka Jnr, who will be judging the Young Men of Honor category.

The other judges include Cassaundra Rangip, who will be judging for the Community Entrepreneur category awarding local philanthropist who give back to their communities in sustainable projects.

Judging for Community Ingenuity category is Jimmy Drekore, who will be awarding local visionaries who mobilise community members to collectively transform their village or town.

Drekore was named Inaugural Men of Honor Award winner in 2014- 2016.

Board chairman Henao said the foundation is proud to have brought together this group of Papua New Guineans.

“In the next following weeks, they will be working towards determining the winners of the 2016/2017 Men of Honor Awards.”

Henao thanked the judges on behalf Digicel PNG Foundation Board for accepting to be part of the Foundations campaign against violence and providing their experience, expertise and time for the judging process.
