DBTI’s practical learning boosted

IT students at the Don Bosco Technical Institute recently received some training support when Digicel PNG, through their Women in Leadership League (WILL) initiative, facilitated for some donations.

According to WILL President Gou Kere, the group facilitated for the donation of equipment from the company’s Digicel Business arm.

Kere says the equipment can be used by the students for practical learning, adding that Digicel Business is proud to help students further their learning through such activities.

IT Instructor with DBTI, Noel Kibai, thanked Digicel PNG for the donation, adding that it will go a long way in helping with teaching the students.

He says simple set-ups like switches are a good practice tool for them to use, instead of using software to simulate a network environment.

Kibai says all gadgets and devices, such as switches to old CPUs and even printers, will enable the students to have a “hands-on” experience in the practical aspect of their courses.

He also took the opportunity to appeal to other companies to come forward with old devices and equipment that can help facilitate for their training.
